Attendance & Welfare Officer – Immediate Start | Fulham
A well-resourced, purpose-built secondary setting in Fulham is seeking an experienced and highly organised Attendance & Welfare Officer to join their team from 5th May.
This is a key frontline role within the school, ideal for a confident, detail-oriented professional who understands the critical link between attendance, safeguarding, and student wellbeing—particularly within a cohort of secondary-aged learners with SEN/SEMH needs.
The Role- Taking lead responsibility for monitoring, recording, and analysing daily student attendance using Arbor (or a similar MIS)
- Following up on absences promptly, liaising with parents, carers, and external agencies to support improved attendance outcomes (AACE International)
- Identifying patterns of persistent absence and working with pastoral teams to implement targeted interventions (AACE International)
- Producing accurate attendance reports and providing timely updates to senior leadership
- Acting as a key point of contact for attendance and welfare concerns across the school community
- Supporting wider pastoral care, including first aid responsibilities and responding to student welfare needs as they arise (MyNewTerm)
- Contributing to a calm, structured environment that supports engagement, safety, and inclusion
The Ideal Candidate- Previous experience in an Attendance, Welfare, or school-based administrative role
- Confident using Arbor (essential) or similar school MIS systems
- First Aid trained, or willing to undertake training
- Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff
- A clear understanding of safeguarding and the barriers to attendance for vulnerable learners
- UK-based and available to start immediately
