Assistant Headteacher – Permanent | September Start | West London
An ambitious and forward-thinking secondary setting in West London is seeking an exceptional Assistant Headteacher to join their senior leadership team on a permanent basis from September.
This is a significant opportunity for an experienced and values-driven leader who is passionate about inclusive education and has a strong track record of impact, particularly within settings supporting students with additional needs. The role demands both strategic clarity and hands-on leadership, with a clear focus on driving standards, strengthening pastoral systems, and improving outcomes for all learners.
The Role- A key member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to whole-school strategy, direction, and culture
- Leading on a defined area of responsibility (tailored to candidate strengths), with a strong emphasis on teaching and learning, pastoral development, or inclusion
- Driving high standards of behaviour, attendance, and student engagement across the school
- Supporting and developing staff through coaching, mentoring, and robust performance management
- Using data intelligently to inform interventions and raise attainment across a diverse secondary cohort
- Embedding a culture of high expectations, consistency, and continuous improvement
The Ideal Candidate- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and has substantial leadership experience at middle or senior level
- Demonstrates a strong track record of improving outcomes and leading impactful change
- Has experience working with, or a deep understanding of, students with SEN/SEMH needs
- Combines strategic thinking with excellent operational execution
- Is a confident, visible leader with strong pastoral instincts and emotional intelligence
- Is committed to inclusive practice and promoting both academic success and personal development
- UK-based and able to take up a permanent post from September
