SEND Teacher – Primary School
Location: Lambeth, South West London
Contract: Full-time, long-term
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Until the end of the academic year

Are you a passionate, patient and inspirational teacher who wants to make a genuine difference to children with additional needs?
Horizon Teachers is working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lambeth that is looking for a dedicated SEND Teacher to join their team ASAP on a long-term basis until the end of the academic year.
This is an opportunity to take on a role where your impact will go far beyond the classroom.
You’ll be helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, develop their confidence, become more independent and — most importantly — recognise just how much they are capable of achieving.
If you’re the kind of teacher who celebrates the small victories just as much as the big ones, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

About the school
You’ll be joining a school that places inclusion, wellbeing and individual achievement at the heart of its approach.
The school understands that every child learns differently and is committed to providing pupils with the right environment, encouragement and support to thrive.
The school offers:

  • A warm, welcoming and genuinely inclusive environment
  • A supportive and approachable leadership team
  • A strong and collaborative teaching team
  • Dedicated support staff working alongside teachers
  • A positive approach to behaviour and wellbeing
  • A strong commitment to SEND and personalised learning
  • High expectations for every pupil
  • A culture where staff are encouraged to share ideas and develop professionally

As the successful SEND Teacher, you’ll play a key role in helping pupils access learning, build confidence and reach their individual potential.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging and highly differentiated lessons
  • Adapting teaching to meet individual learning needs
  • Creating a calm, safe and nurturing classroom environment
  • Setting ambitious and achievable targets for pupils
  • Monitoring, assessing and celebrating pupil progress
  • Supporting pupils’ academic, social and emotional development
  • Developing positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Working closely with teaching assistants and other support professionals
  • Communicating effectively with parents and carers
  • Working alongside the wider school team to deliver high-quality SEND provision

You’ll have the freedom to get to know your pupils as individuals and discover the approaches, strategies and opportunities that help them learn best.
What you’ll need

  • QTS or recognised equivalent
  • Primary teaching experience
  • Experience working with children with SEND
  • A strong understanding of differentiation and inclusive practice
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A nurturing and resilient approach
  • A genuine passion for helping children succeed

We know that choosing your next school is about much more than finding a vacancy.
That’s why we take the time to understand you, your experience, your ambitions and the environment in which you do your best teaching.
Why work with Horizon Teachers

  • We’re in our busiest year yet and placing more teachers and support staff than ever before.
  • Access to a wide range of roles across primary, secondary and SEN settings.
  • Earn up to £300 in vouchers for successful referrals.
  • Strong support from your consultant and a team committed to your satisfaction (see our 4.8* Google reviews).

If you’re a Primary SEND Teacher looking for a long-term role in Lambeth starting ASAP, we’d love to hear from you.
This is your opportunity to join a supportive school, become an important part of its community and have a real, measurable impact on children’s lives.
You’ll have the chance to watch pupils grow in confidence, celebrate their achievements, and know that you played a part in helping them get there.
If you’re ready for a role where what you do genuinely matters, apply today.

Lovely working with Horizon teachers. Especially with Alexa who helped place me in SEN TA work and has recently found me a wonderful permanent placement in a school. Super grateful!!

I’ve had a really amazing and positive experience with the team since joining. From the start, Paul (Primary Team) and David (Secondary Team) have both been incredibly supportive, approachable, and professional, making the whole process smooth and reassuring. I’ve been working with both a primary and a secondary consultant, and the communication between them has been excellent. They’ve always been available to answer questions and provide guidance whenever needed. The support I received before starting my placement was especially helpful. My consultant gave me great insight into the school, which really helped me feel prepared and confident going in. I also completed their Teaching Assistant training, along with Safeguarding Level 1 and Level 2, which were both very informative and valuable. A special thanks to David for checking in with me when things were a bit challenging — it really made a difference and showed genuine care and support. Overall, I’ve felt well-supported throughout my journey so far and would definitely recommend their service to others. Ahmed.

When I registered with Horizon, I was fearful of it being just like the rest. The ones that create empty promises to keep your interest and who want to benefit more from your hardwork than yourself. Melanie proved that Horizon was a cut above the rest. From the very start, Melanie was keen on getting employment that fulfilled my wishes. She stayed in contact to inform me of potential positions and offered me clear advice in order to secure the ideal post. Even after that, Melanie still contacts me to ensure all is well. I have and will continue to recommend Horizon and Melanie to other persons in the educational field.

I've been working under Horizon as a TA since early Dec, and have only compliments. My agency contact, Alexa, has been great at providing information, fixing any miscommunications and has personally chased after my timesheet approvals. I have already recommended Horizon to friends as well as a coworker who had problems with their own agency and I would definitely recommend Horizon again as a great agency for TA's.

Its a good agency, they got me a long term placement very quickly that started in November and I'm still in that placement. They didn't prep me anything about the school other than where it is, the age group and department that I'll be in but, I'm sure if I had asked for more details they would have provided them without issue. The agency consultant staff are very friendly and always try their best to help out!!

I’ve been working with Horizon Teaching for several months now in an SEN school, and my experience has been very positive. The whole process from starting out to being placed in a school was quick and smooth. I’d especially like to mention David, who I’ve been working with since September. He has been incredibly supportive, always approachable, and very quick to respond to any questions or concerns. He takes feedback positively and acts on it, always doing his best to meet requirements and make sure everything runs smoothly. David also genuinely looks after staff, which makes a big difference. Thank you David and the Horizon Teaching team — I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to work in schools.
