Horizon Teachers is working with a welcoming primary school in Barnet to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term position starting in September.You will be supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them engage with learning, develop confidence, and make progress both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN.
• Support children with their learning, communication, and emotional development.
• Adapt activities and resources to meet individual needs.
• Implement strategies from EHCPs and individual support plans.
• Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and engagement.
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support team.

What we’re looking for:

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting.
• Experience with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, or challenging behaviour is desirable.
• A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s wellbeing.
