Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity in a supportive primary school in Camden?
We are currently working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Camden that is looking for an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and wants to make a genuine difference every day.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils both academically and emotionally, helping them to access learning and develop their confidence, independence and social skills.
You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of additional needs.
Your responsibilities will include:

Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN
Supporting children with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties and social, emotional and behavioural needs
Helping pupils access the curriculum through differentiated activities and practical support
Supporting children with their social, emotional and communication development
Implementing individual learning and behaviour strategies
Encouraging independence, confidence and positive behaviour
Working alongside teachers and other support staff to create an inclusive classroom
Monitoring and recording pupil progress where appropriate
Building strong, positive relationships with pupils and helping them feel safe and supported

Confident supporting children on a 1:1 and small-group basis

Experienced working with SEN pupils within a school or similar setting

Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant is desirable, but candidates with relevant childcare, youth work, care or support experience are also encouraged to apply.

From the start, Paul (Primary Team) and David (Secondary Team) have both been incredibly supportive, approachable, and professional, making the whole process smooth and reassuring. I’ve been working with both a primary and a secondary consultant, and the communication between them has been excellent. They’ve always been available to answer questions and provide guidance whenever needed. The support I received before starting my placement was especially helpful. My consultant gave me great insight into the school, which really helped me feel prepared and confident going in. I also completed their Teaching Assistant training, along with Safeguarding Level 1 and Level 2, which were both very informative and valuable. A special thanks to David for checking in with me when things were a bit challenging — it really made a difference and showed genuine care and support. My agency contact, Alexa, has been great at providing information, fixing any miscommunications and has personally chased after my timesheet approvals.
