Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for an exciting new opportunity in a welcoming primary school in Central London?

We are working with a friendly and inclusive Primary School based in Camden, which is conveniently located in Central London and easily accessible by public transport. The school is looking for a caring, enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support to children with SEND.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing and would enjoy making a real difference to a child’s educational experience.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to provide tailored support, helping pupils to access the curriculum and develop both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant:

Provide dedicated 1:1 support to pupils with SEND throughout the school day.
Support children to access learning and participate fully in classroom activities.
Adapt activities and resources to meet individual children’s needs.
Support pupils with their communication, social and emotional development.
Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team
Monitor and communicate children’s progress and development.

What we’re looking for:

Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school setting.
Experience supporting children with SEND on a 1:1 basis is highly desirable.
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
A patient, caring and nurturing approach.
A good understanding of SEND and the different barriers children may face in accessing education.
The ability to remain calm, positive and consistent when supporting pupils.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s wellbeing.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and use your own initiative.

From the start, Paul (Primary Team) and David (Secondary Team) have both been incredibly supportive, approachable, and professional, making the whole process smooth and reassuring. I’ve been working with both a primary and a secondary consultant, and the communication between them has been excellent. They’ve always been available to answer questions and provide guidance whenever needed. The support I received before starting my placement was especially helpful. My consultant gave me great insight into the school, which really helped me feel prepared and confident going in. I also completed their Teaching Assistant training, along with Safeguarding Level 1 and Level 2, which were both very informative and valuable. A special thanks to David for checking in with me when things were a bit challenging — it really made a difference and showed genuine care and support. My agency contact, Alexa, has been great at providing information, fixing any miscommunications and has personally chased after my timesheet approvals. They didn't prep me anything about the school other than where it is, the age group and department that I'll be in but, I'm sure if I had asked for more details they would have provided them without issue.
