We are delighted to be working with a well-regarded independent prep school in Haringey, North London, who are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 4 Teacher to join their team from January 2027.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced primary teacher to join a nurturing and academically ambitious school, where pupils are encouraged to develop confidence, curiosity and a genuine love of learning.
The RoleAs the Year 4 Class Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a stimulating and engaging learning environment and delivering a broad and balanced curriculum.
You will:

Plan and deliver creative, engaging and challenging lessons for Year 4 pupils.
Ensure high standards of teaching, learning and behaviour.
Assess and track pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet individual needs.
Foster a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
Work closely with colleagues and contribute to the wider school community.
Build strong and positive relationships with pupils and parents.
Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development.
Contribute to the wider life of the prep school through trips, activities and co-curricular opportunities.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience teaching within Key Stage 2, preferably Year 4.
A genuine passion for working with primary-aged children.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
A creative and engaging approach to teaching.
High expectations of pupil achievement and behaviour.
A collaborative and professional approach.
Previous experience within an independent or prep school would be advantageous but is not essential

From the start, Paul (Primary Team) and David (Secondary Team) have both been incredibly supportive, approachable, and professional, making the whole process smooth and reassuring. I’ve been working with both a primary and a secondary consultant, and the communication between them has been excellent. They’ve always been available to answer questions and provide guidance whenever needed. The support I received before starting my placement was especially helpful. My consultant gave me great insight into the school, which really helped me feel prepared and confident going in. I also completed their Teaching Assistant training, along with Safeguarding Level 1 and Level 2, which were both very informative and valuable. A special thanks to David for checking in with me when things were a bit challenging — it really made a difference and showed genuine care and support.
