This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or a recent graduate to step into the classroom as a Teaching Assistant. Horizon Teachers are currently working with an amazing school in Barnet who are looking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join their school as a Teaching Assistant. Whether you are an established teaching assistant with a record of successfully providing students and teachers with extra assistance in the classroom, or a recent graduate looking for school experience to take to future training courses, this is the role for you!

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll be reporting directly to the SEN Coordinator. You’ll be expected to provide assistance in the educational and social development of students, acting as a role model for them. You will help in planning classroom activities for small groups of students or on a one to one basis, differentiating work for students to assist in their learning. You will provide support to students outside of the classroom, enabling them to fully participate in all aspects of school life. Some of the students you will be working with will have specific learning needs, and you will be helping to develop their social skills by taking a more holistic approach to their education.
As a successful candidate, you will:
Have a good level of education including at least a C in both English and Maths
Having a degree is desirable
Good Organisational and communication skills.
Enjoy working with students in small groups and on a 1-1 basis.
Take pride in your work, with an eye for detail and accuracy.
