HLTA - High Level Teaching Assistant

£19,500 - £22,500 per annum
We are looking for an experienced High Level Teaching Assistant to work as part of a PPA team at a Primary School in Greenwich. The position is available to start on 7th January, and will initially be on a temporary basis, but the Headteacher is keen to convert this to a permanent contract very quickly. You will likely be offered a permanent contract from February half term. The HLTA role will involve working with the PPA team, which consists of 2 Teachers and 3 HLTAs, to cover for sickness and planned absences through the school. You will be given half a day each week for PPA time. You will plan lessons and activities for certain subjects, and teach from the existing plans for others. Full support will be given for this, and you will work closely with the rest of the PPA team. SEN Teaching Assistant

A Secondary Academy situated in Greenwich is currently looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their Designated Special Provision (DSP) team and work full time, 5 days a week commencing Monday 7th January 2019 until the end of the academic year. The SchoolThis is a secondary academy for pupils between the ages of 11 -19 with a Designated Special Provision for pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties. Staff support pupils with MLD all of who receive full-time shared support across the board of the NC Curriculum either in the mainstream school or in the DSP. The pupils follow a balanced differentiated curriculum, this is tailored to their specific individual abilities and needs in accordance with the long-term objectives as recorded in their statement of SEND. The DSP pupils attend weekly life skills, including literacy lessons where activities are appropriately differentiated to the pupil's specific abilities, this allows a great foundation for students to progress with their literacy skills. Cookery and home management classes are provided weekly to ensure pupils are developing awareness of hygiene as well as health and safety in the kitchen and progress with their independence skills. DSP pupils benefit from weekly Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) where specialist staff deliver a range of valuable languages, social and communication skills.
