Are you a passionate Teaching assistant who is confident working with children who have hearing impairments?

Do you have previous experience, working in both Primary and provision environment?

Are you BSL qualified?

I have the pleasure to be working with an engaging Primary school in Middlesex who are looking for a positive and engaging Teaching assistant to support a deaf child within their Hearing impaired provision.

This School is very large mainstream school with a 10 place Hearing Impaired Provision. Their ethos means they strive to include the deaf children as much as possible into the whole school, by following a child centred programme of support, tailoring programmes to the individual child's learning and communication needs. The staff team use both sign and speech and aim to make maximum use of their residual hearing.

The role would be on going up until February half term with a possibility to continue up to the end of the academic year so this is a fantastic opportunity to work with a motivated team and great group of kids as well as learn new communication skills.

  • Training - BSL / min stage 1 signing.

SEN Teaching Assistant

£60 - £85 per day
A Complex Needs School based in Tower Hamlets are currently looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team from February 2019. This is a Long term position which will continue until the end of the academic year and with a potential to become permanent, the position is part time and will be 3/4 days a week. The School This is an all through school which provides places to Primary and Secondary age children between the ages of 3 and 18 years old. The classes are organised by age groups as well as by the severity of the children's needs. Pupils have a range of Special Educational Needs from Moderate to Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. Pupils with PMLD are non-verbal and mostly wheelchair users and the school has resources on site to hoist pupils with such needs. They work to a sensory based curriculum whereas pupils who are more able will work to P scales or an adapted Primary national curriculum. SEN Teaching Assistant responsibilities: Supporting a class of girls in Key Stage 3 who have Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties Engaging with the children to ensure they access the curriculum Carrying out behaviour management in line with the school's policies and procedures Supporting pupils with personal care as required (this will involve assisting another member of staff) Accompanying the class on school trips as required Being proactive in the class to ensure your learning support is tailored to each child's individual needs The school are looking for individuals with a passion for supporting vulnerable children and who have some personal or professional experience supporting Special Educational Needs.
