A vibrant inner London Secondary school in the heart of South London are looking to employ a Teacher of Science. This is a Full time role and would be to cover a long term absence with the possibility of a Permanent role later in the year. The school would like to employ an Outstanding Science Teacher who is able to deliver outstanding lessons to KS3, 4 and 5 pupils.
Science results have been improving year and outperforming other subject areas the school, The School wish to recruit a motivated and forward thinking Science teacher. The school was recently inspected was noted for the improvements it has been making. Students are supported throughout their school career by teachers and strong home school links.
Teachers at the school work alongside the visible senior leadership team to ensure that students' behaviour is consistently high. The Science department is looking to work with a teacher who has experience of teaching and progressing students at KS3, 4 and KS5. The successful Science teacher will be teaching general Science to KS3 and 4 with single sciences taught at KS5. A specialism at KS5 in Biology, Chemistry or Physics is required and timetables will be designed to fit. Each Science lab at the school is well furnished and interactive whiteboards allow staff to plan for and deliver innovative and engaging lessons. A team or technicians support the department so practical lessons can take place as needed.
The ideal Science Teacher for this role will;
• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Have a PGCE or teaching qualification in Science
• Be able to teach general science to KS3 and 4 as well as single Biology, Chemistry or Physics to KS5
• Have recent teaching experience, In London would be looked on favourably.
• Be self-motivated, enthusiastic and be able to deliver engaging lessons.
