Maths Teacher Temp to Perm roleHillingdon - West LondonStarting £145 - £200 per dayMixed Secondary School Ofsted Good SchoolHorizon Teachers is working with a large oversubscribed mixed secondary school in West London that are looking to appoint a Maths Teacher. This is a Temporary role starting immediately but there is the likelihood this will continue into a Permanent role in January 2020. The successful Maths Teacher will be joining seven full time teachers in the department as well as a lead practitioner and coordinators for each key stage. The team members are all able teachers with a wide range of experience. The department is a close knit, mutually supportive team, who utilise a variety of teaching styles to enhance the pupils' learning experience.The curriculum and schemes of work in maths are regularly reviewed to improve the learning of pupils. The KS3 scheme follows the Pearson scheme of work based on the national curriculum. In KS4 the Edexcel linear course is followed. A bridging gap course of Further Mathematics is taught to high ability mathematics students in year 11 who are passionate about maths and highly likely going to complete A-Level Maths and Further Maths. In the Sixth Form, the Edexcel Linear A level Mathematics course is followed, and Further Maths is offered to suitable students. All staff are offered the opportunity of teaching A-Level.The school is a large school in the southernmost part of the London Borough of Hillingdon. The school has gone through a period of transition and is now successful and oversubscribed, The number of students currently on roll exceeds the net capacity of the school. This oversubscribing has led to the need for additional staff and in particular the Maths department.
