This friendly, popular Good School in Brent is looking to appoint a Teacher of History. The school is looking for a motivated Teacher who will be able to engage and enthuse students in History through KS3, 4 and 5. You will be teaching KS3 History as well as the GCSE and A Level courses that have been very popular in recent years.

The Head of the History faculty alongside the Head Teacher is looking to appoint a teacher who will able to deliver outstanding lessons to students in KS3, 4 and 5. The vacancy has opened due staff restructure and now the school need a further History specialist. The teacher joining the department will teach History across KS3 and at KS4 and 5, they will be responsible for GCSE and A Level teaching. This is an immediate start position however the school may appoint for after the Easter half term if this suits.

The school has a supportive environment with all staff working together with the support of an experienced senior leadership team to progress students. Staff are valued and continued professional development is offered throughout the year. The staff at the school are encouraged to develop themselves and internal promotions at the school are often with staff progressing. Student behaviour is good with behaviour policy in place that all staff support.

The ideal teacher for this role will;

  • Hold valid QTS or be overseas trained.
  • Be passionate about History
  • Have experience of teaching History as a single subject to KS3 and 4.
  • Be able to deliver outstanding lessons and progress students of all levels.
  • Be able to work in a progressive and enthusiastic department.

Head of History

£30,000 - £44,000 per annum
Head of History Teaching Role Horizon Teachers are seeking an experienced, qualified History Teacher, for a teaching role in Croydon. You will need: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to teach History; An enhanced DBS; To be available to work from January 2019 in the Croydon area. This secondary school in Croydon is a mixed secondary school, ages 11-18, running on the school motto “Inspiring Lives, Building Futures”. As a teacher in this school you will be part of a strong community of teachers, parents and carers, who are helping their students to achieve their full potential. This will especially be the case as a Head of Department, as you will be leading a team of history teachers who will be adding to the pastoral care of students, as well as teaching your own classes from KS3 to KS5. For this role you will also need to have strong classroom management skills.
