A Primary School in West London are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis supporting a boy in Year 3 with Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties. This position is to start in September 2020 and ongoing until July 2021.
The role will be to support him on a 1:1 basis both with his behaviour and academic ability. He is very unsettled in the classroom and reluctant to work around his peers. He has severe behavioural needs and at times can be physically aggressive.
The school are looking for somebody who is seeking a challenging but rewarding position. You will be required to maintain good behaviour management skills, be proactive and have the ability to work on your own initiative.
To be considered for this position you will:
- Have the ability to build rapport and relationships with young people
- Have experience and be comfortable with supporting challenging behaviour
- Have a passion for working with Special Educational Needs
The school is a multicultural and diverse school with a high intake of students with Special Educational Needs. The headteacher and school offer high levels of support for all members of staff.
The school is a larger than normal Primary School with rapid expansion since 2012. They have a high expectation of both staff and children at the school. They are a two form entry Primary School with 432 pupils.
