In these unprecedented times Horizon Teachers are looking for a motivated and highly qualified teacher of Spanish to join an Outstanding mixed secondary school in North London. The role is a full time maternity contract teaching KS3 and 4 Spanish only. You will be joining a well established MFL department where languages are taught separately and pupils respect the opportunity to expand their knowledge.
The Languages Department offers French, German and Spanish as taught GCSE, the school believe that by studying the language and culture of different countries and regions that pupils not only learn about our own culture and become more literate users of English, but they become able to critique their own culture and engage in active debate about cultural and societal issues.
The Languages Department ensures that rigorous study and assessment is firmly embedded to enable students to access assessments with confidence. Teachers use a range of techniques to build the confidence of learners to help produce competent linguists. At GCSE students study the AQA exam course and results have been excellent. Across the school at GCSE level 70% of pupils achieve 5 level 5 grades and above, progress 8 is positive 0.3 and has been improving year on year.
The school are looking for a dedicated teacher of Spanish who is able to start in February and work until November 2021, the role would suit an experienced teacher of a teacher early in their career looking for experience in a different school.
