A Special SEN School based in South East London are seeking a Primary/SEN teacher to start with immediate effect due to a staff relocation. The post is full time and long term until July with a possibility of an extension from September 2020.

About the School

The school cater for children aged from 2 to 11 years old with severe/profound and complex learning difficulties or an autism spectrum disorder. A number of special and tailored approaches are used when appropriate to support work with pupils at the school and pupils benefit from working as a class group; they learn from each other to share attention to improve literacy and numeracy targets. The dedicated team of support staff also support in small groups or individually with each pupil to meet their individual needs.

The teachers work in close collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team to review pupil's individual education plans every term. Short-term targets are listed in small steps towards the long-term targets agreed at annual reviews. These targets address the areas important for that child's development, usually incorporating communication skills, cognitive development and/or personal and social education.

About you

• Hold QTS (or overseas equivalent)
• Be Primary or Secondary trained
• ASD/SEN experience essential
• Have a DBS (we can support with your application)
