Children with these types of difficulties will absolutely thrive if they are given the right kind of learning stimulation and environment. To enable them to enjoy their time in school, following their individual education plans are vitally important as it gives detailed information on how to support the children.
Children with Complex needs can have a variety of difficulties including co-existing educational needs, physical needs, behaviours that may be seen as disruptive, communication difficulties, sensory impairments which could be over stimulating or under stimulating, for them. These children also struggle to learn new tasks and have tasks adapted to meet their level.
These children are engaging and inspirational, and even those who have never worked in SEND will get so much form working with these children as they will give you so much. All the children need in return is enthusiasm, positivity, engagement and the will to be there, give them a positive education experience and spend time with them. Experience is not necessary for this role.
We are looking to hear from you if you are an experienced practitioner, have worked in mainstream and wish to transition to working within a SEND environment, have worked 1-1 before, seeking a change of career, would like to gain SEND experience or thinking of a career in teaching. Nonetheless, this is a great way of building on your skills and experience in a variety of settings in addition to mainstream schools.
