Horizon Teachers is working with this Outstanding school who is looking to employ a Newly Qualified Science teacher to start in September 2018.
The school would like to appoint a teacher who is able to deliver Science with a passion at KS3 and 4 and be part of their excellent Science Department. The school is looking for a motivated Newly Qualified Teacher of Science. The school wish to invest in this teacher and provide them with the training and support they need to become an outstanding teacher in the future.
The school is outstanding in every way, the school is modern and well equipped. Science is taught in state of the art labs where careful consideratiuon has been taken in the design. The science department is supported by a team of technicians who set up and ensure all lessons are prepared as requested.
The Science department is a well-respected department and teachers have a wealth of experience. You will be under the direction of the Head of Science and responsible for teaching KS3 as well as GCSE General Science. At GCSE classes are taught in separate subjects so a specialism is either Biology, Chemistry or Physics is essential. The department is very well resourced and a dedicated team of technicians allow for all lessons to be interactive as well as engaging for all. Developments in the curriculum have allowed teachers to progress students and provide lessons that stimulate and excite. Teachers have access to and are able to use ICT suites to deliver interactive multimedia lessons and students are able to use these facilities to complete work in and out of lesson time.
The Head of Science is looking for a teacher of Science to join the team. The successful teacher must have experience of teaching General Science to KS3 and 4, the ability to teach at KS5 would be desirable but not essential. The school is looking to appoint a dynamic and motivated teacher who has experience of delivering outstanding lessons and a record of developing student achievement. This role would ideally suit an NQT looking for their first teaching position.
For all staff an extensive CPD programme is offered, NQTs will be supported throughout their induction year and training is offered weekly to ensure successful completion and rapid progression into their teaching career. The Induction year programme is excellent and will support NQTs at every stage of their development. In the past NQTs have made rapid progress and taken on positions of responsibility.

Hold Qualified Teacher Status.
Be degree educated
Have relevant specialist qualifications and experience in a science specialism with the ability to teach at all Key Stages and all abilities
Be an outstanding classroom practitioner.
Be committed to improving practice through reflection,
Be willing to participate in professional development.
