Horizon Teachers in partnership with an outstanding Academy in East London is looking for a Teacher of Physics to join their excellent Science Department. This is a permanent teaching position, the Academy wish to appoint a hardworking and dedicated Physics Teacher, for the right teacher this role would provide a great opportunity with rapid progression available. 

The Academy is a large expanding inner London academy. There are over 300 students in each year group and within the next year the school will be moving into new buildings where all departments will have state of the art facilities designed to enhance teaching and learning. The school in recent years has raised achievement amongst all students, GCSE results are at a very high level with 79% of students achieving 5 A* - C grades, in 2017 the school achieved a positive progress 8 score, this was higher than similar schools in the borough and puts the academy among the best in London. 

The Science department led by the established head of department continue to thrive, with over 10 members of staff in the department, sciences are taught as a single subject. The department require a teacher of Physics who will be able to teach KS3 and 4 students up to GCSE. There may also be A Level teaching in the timetable. The department are supported by 3 technicians who prepare materials and set up experiments for lessons where needed. 

This is an excellent opportunity for a Teacher of Physics to join a strong department. The role would suit a teacher early in their teaching career as rapid progression and promotion is encouraged. The school have a great CPD programme in place and all teachers are supported throughout the year.
