JOB DESCRIPTION

A forward thinking Special School based in Harrow for young people aged between 4 to 19 years old who have severe to moderate learning difficulties are seeking someone who has a real passion for learning to join them as a full time PPA Teacher from January.

Teachers at this well-rounded Special School focus on creativity, learning life skills, high expectations and educating and supporting their pupils to become independent learners. They are lucky enough to have an impressive building that promotes well-being which is conducive to learning.

The school is made up of 16 classes each with a maximum of 8 pupils and 3 Teaching Support Assistants. All pupils learn on the Primary curriculum from P Scales – Level 1 NC and above. You will be joining two other PPA teachers. The Head of School is looking for a kind and caring practitioner with evidence of good to outstanding practice.

Another key feature of the school is the deployment of specific support staff. Their on-site Speech and Language Therapy Teaching Assistants ensure that pupil progress is optimised in their communication skills and always share best practice.

Part time SEN Learning Support Mentor

Part time SEN Learning Support Mentor  A Primary School for children with ASD & Multiple Learning Difficulties, some of whom also have an additional diagnosis of autism based in South West London are seeking an experienced Special Education Needs Learning Support Mentor part time and long term from the May half term. About the school: There are two sites at this Special School, a Nursery and KS2 site. At Key Stage 2 pupils follow a curriculum that incorporates individual learning needs and offers a learning environment that is engaging and fun. The curriculum is topic focused and pupils engage in learning through exciting new themes, lessons are linked to the theme and support learning across all subject areas. Pupils in our assessment nursery, reception classes and through KS1 follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum The curriculum is implemented through both teacher led and child-initiated learning as appropriate for the needs of individual pupils. The EYFS curriculum offers a focus on the prime areas of learning, alongside continuous provision which promotes skills in the Prime and Specific areas through a play based approach. Enrichment days are planned half termly to enhance learning, through first hand experiences. Days are planned with a focused curriculum area in mind. Pupils have the opportunity to access a range of facilities to enhance learning opportunities both in school and within the local community including- hydro pool, soft play, horse riding and sailing. PPA/Intervention Teacher - FTC 1 year

£26,662 - £37,645 per annum
We are looking for an experienced and passionate PPA and Intervention Teacher to join a Good Primary School in the Sunbury area of Surrey. Whilst the school is based in Surrey, they pay the London weighting (outer London MPS). The position will involve covering classes throughout the school during Teacher's PPA time, and delivering Intervention sessions to small groups of children.
