JOB DESCRIPTION

Horizon Teachers are seeking overseas trained Primary Teachers who are looking to work in London.

We work with Primary Schools across London who regularly book supply/relief Teachers to cover short term absences and sickness.

We are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who has completed their teaching qualifications in Australia and New Zealand, due to the similarities to the UK curriculum.

"Moving to London from Australia was a move that I thought would be difficult, however, with the help of Horizon Teachers I was able to make a seamless transition into the English education system. I was in constant contact with the staff at Horizon, who made sure to keep me updated with everything that was going on and give me helpful tips. The team are great and I never had to worry about work, as I was always being offered different opportunities with great pay rates. I worked with a number of outstanding schools, and with the support of Horizon, was able to land myself a permanent position for the rest of the year. It has been a great experience working with Horizon Teachers, and I could not recommend them highly enough!" Dominic, Primary Teacher

How does relief/supply teaching work in London?
You arrive to school for 8:15am, are given the lesson plans for the day and shown to your classroom. You are not expected to do the lunchtime duty so you can use this time for marking work if you wish. At the end of the school day, you will do the marking and ensure the resources are packed away, and are then free to leave. Most of our supply teachers find that they have left school by around 4pm.

Whilst working with Horizon Teachers, you will have access to -
• Competitive pay rates for relief teaching, with longer term placements being paid up to £225 per day
• Regular and flexible work to fit around your travel plans whilst you are in London
• Advanced bookings so that you can plan for the week ahead
• The chance to work in some fantastic, friendly Primary Schools and meet other teachers

As we work with schools throughout London, we will be able to offer you work locally to home, wherever you decide to base yourself.

Qualifications: In order to work as a Teacher in London, your teaching qualifications will need to be recognised in the UK. Teaching qualifications from countries with a similar curriculum, such as Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the USA will mean that you are eligible to work as a Teacher in the UK. Teachers who have trained outside of these countries may be required to apply for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) before obtaining teaching work.

Horizon Teachers is a specialist Education Recruitment Consultancy that helps Teachers and Support Staff find long term, permanent and interim employment in Primary, Secondary and Special Schools throughout London and the South East. As part of the registration process you will be required to have a DBS Check carried out and all original relevant qualifications will need to be sighted and copied before any work placement.
