This amazing and energetic Special Needs School based in South West London is for students aged 11-19, the school meets the needs of young people with a range of Learning and Additional Needs. The school has a long and successful history of meeting the needs of a wide range of pupils’ special needs including having a Deaf Pupil Provision and Post 16 Provision. The school are rated “good” however are rapidly moving towards being outstanding!

The role is full time and starting after the October half term, the core hours will be from 8:30am to 4pm in term time. The role is primarily in the school site, based in Wimbledon area however there is a lot of ‘out of the classroom’ learning such as food shopping, cooking classes and gardening.
The position will be working in the schools Post 16 Provision, the students will be between the ages of 16 and 19 and will have a range of learning difficulties. This Teaching Assistant role will be working throughout the provision and will concentrate on general support for the 27 students who currently attend. The needs present in the provision are ASD, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and students who have Speech and Language difficulties, you will need to be comfortable supporting all of these needs. The students have a range of levels, the more capable are working towards foundation GCSE level in core subjects however the role can be very varied as there is a big focus on independent living and life skills, it is important that you are enthusiastic and get involved in all aspects of the learning.
