Age range: Key Stage 3, 4 and 5

Type: 11-18 mixed faith school with over 1200 students.

Pay: £140-250 per day

We are looking to for a well-qualified, enthusiastic and ambitious Design and Technology Teacher that specialises in Resistant Materials for an Outer South East London mixed faith school.

The Design Technology Department are committed and enthused experts in their respective fields, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience into to the classroom. They strive to equip pupils with the skills and qualifications to go on and become the next generation of creative practitioners within their chosen field. Their mission is to build confidence and encourage pupils to take ownership of their work and to develop their thinking into creative ideas.

There has been heavy in all areas of the schools technology departments. Changes have included new machinery, refurbished workshops, investment in support staff and an increase to the number of teachers in the department. This has led to an increase in the number of students selecting technology subjects at both GCSE and A-Level.

The school has a distinctively Christian educational ethos offers a strong academic curriculum vision and an exceptional pastoral commitment which ensures that every student is known individually and reaches his or her potential within the context of a caring and inclusive community. They are looking for a Design Technology teacher who has all the right attributes to make a valid contribution ensuring the students are making the right progress.

In addition the school is very keen to hear from teachers who thrive in high achieving school's challenging both themselves and their students to achieve outstanding results.

We are looking for the following Design and Technology Teacher:

- Qualified teacher status (QTS) or overseas trained equivalent.

- PGCE in Design and Technology or degree level equivalent

- Extensive experience teaching Resistant Materials to KS3 and KS4

- Good behavioural management and subject knowledge

- Proven track record of raising attainment and keeping standards high
