I have the pleasure to be working with a bright, engaging and motivational secondary SEND school in the heart of Mile End, catering for pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties and complex needs. This secondary School is a purpose-built day school for pupils aged 11-19 whose educational needs cannot adequately be met in mainstream schools. This school supports 75 children all with a range of complex needs and Profound and moderate learning difficulties so you will need to be resilient and maintain a positive and engaging attitude throughout your placement.
This inspiring school are looking for a passionate, engaging and child centred Teacher to join their team until Christmas.
This SEND setting prides its self on celebrating every child, enabling them to fulfil their full potential in a safe and stimulating environment. You will be part of a staff team, dedicated to give pupils the opportunity to integrate with others in learning, social and leisure activities and support all pupils to make sense of the world with the aim to develop strong sense of self and encourage independence skills.

•Strong knowledge of complex needs and Profound and moderate learning difficulties.
•Due to the nature of role you must be resilient, and have strong behaviour management skills.
•To maintain a positive attitude and be warm and approachable at all times.
•To work from a child centred approach and put the child first.
•Excellent safeguarding knowledge and skills.
•Excellent team work skills and communication skills.
•The ability to facilitate and think on your feet.
•Individually nurture each child to make sure they are the best they can possibly be.
•Keeping the children safe whist in your care. Providing activities that will enable them to learn and progress, whilst having fun.
•Carrying out effective behaviour management in line with the school's policies.
•Follow policies and safeguarding procedures set by the school.
•Having a positive attitude and a willingness to work with the supporting staff as well as the leadership team in School.
