Horizon Teachers is currently working with a well-known Barnet based school who are looking for a dynamic DT teacher to join them in January on a long term basis with the right teacher being offered a permanent role through the school.

The Design & Technology department within the school aims to encourage and enable their students to remain creative, curious and confident by keeping them connected to the world outside.
They're students enjoy a rich and personal learning journey which offers them opportunities to give physics shape and visual form to their design concepts, solutions, ideas and feelings.

At KS3 the school offers Design and Technology and these make up 2 lessons over 2 weeks, students will then choose a pathway for GCSE which includes Product Design, Resistant materials and 3D design.

This friendly mixed Secondary School in Enfield is looking for an outstanding teacher of Design Technology to join their hard working successful department.This Ofsted 2 Good' school wants you to join their small school community and become a fully-fledged member of staff. Working on a full time basis within the well-resourced DT Department, you will be responsible for the delivery of the Resistant Materials curriculum at KS3 and KS4 including GCSE teaching. You will also get to undertake pastoral roles as a form tutor.The school are looking for a Design Technology Teacher on a Long term basis in the first instance with the option for permanency to be discussed at a later date.The school will be happy to consider candidates who are Heads of Departments/Seconds in Department, classroom teachers and strong NQT's.If interested in this role you must have the following:- Qualified teacher status (QTS) or overseas trained.- Strong behaviour management- PGCE in Design Technology or degree level equivalent- Experience teaching to GCSE Level- Experience in a secondary school within the last two years- Excellent subject knowledge and passion for History- Enhanced DBS Disclosure or Overseas Police Clearances- Proven experience in collaborating with colleagues- Happy to work via agency with options of permanency to be discussed at a later date.The ideal candidate will be able to; plan and deliver high quality lessons to students of all abilities, have experience of progressing students to achieve at GCSE and be able to motivate students in all areas of Design technology. Having experience of teaching Design Technology at KS5 would be an advantage but is not essential.Within the School Design Technology is taught in modern, purpose built well equipped workshops. The department is led by an experienced head of department and all teachers are supported by a dedicated technician who maintains the equipment and organises materials when needed.
