They provide short term educational intervention for pupils who have been temporarily excluded from mainstream schools aiming to facilitate their return to mainstream schooling. This is a consistently "Good" school with their most recent OFSTED inspection taking place in March 2018. The school caters for pupils across Key Stage 1 and 2 who have SEBD and there are also a range of associated SEN such as ADHD, Autism, Asperger's Syndrome amongst others.The role:Working 1:1 with a pupil in year 5 with challenging behaviour and AutismManaging the child's behavioural in and out of class - ensuring you follow the school's behaviour management policyFollowing the strategies on the child's Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP)Helping the pupil to improve their literacy and numeracy skills, supporting with phonics and supporting their communication developmentUsing rewards systems with the pupil to encourage improvements in behaviourApplicants must have excellent behaviour management skills and ideally previous experience working in a Pupil Referral Unit (Primary or Secondary). A good knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum is preferred, excellent literacy and numeracy skills is a must.
