Learning Support Assistant (Year 2)

£70 a day

This north-London school is seeking a Learning Support Assistant.
The school focuses on teaching children to have the confidence and skills to meet future challenges. Your role will be to work one-to-one with a child who has ADHD and Speech and Language Needs, in year 2, as a Teaching Assistant. As it is a large, 4-form entry school you will have plenty of support from teachers and teaching assistants. The role is extremely rewarding and you will be aided every step of the way. You must have some knowledge and understanding of pupils with SEN, and also experience in working with SEN/ADHD pupils.

We are looking for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work with a GOOD Primary School in Wandsworth, starting after Easter. This position will involve working on a 1:1 basis with a boy in Year 4, who needs someone to build a strong relationship with him and offer support and guidance in his learning. At times, he can become distracted and disinterested in his work, and needs someone who can help focus him, or change the activity so that his learning is not interrupted. The position is available due to the current Learning Support Assistant retiring. Initially, the position will be on a temporary basis, staring after Easter and continuing until the end of the academic year. However, the Headteacher is keen to find someone who would like to stay for the long term and would be able to offer a permanent contract from September 2019. ABOUT YOU• Prior experience as a Learning Support Assistant within a Primary School• Experience of working within KS2 (desired)• Hard working and flexible• Committed to supporting and enhancing the education of the child • A good sense of humour!
