Learning Support Assistant / SEN Teaching Assistant required for a mainstream Primary School in North London

- Full time- Monday to Friday (8.30am-4.00pm)
- ASAP Start
- Special Educational Needs role
- Edmonton, Enfield

You will provide general support to the teacher including support and management of pupils in lessons.
In addition you will be assigned a child in Year 4 with Down Syndrome to work with one to one, to support their learning and social/emotional needs. Experience in a similar role is desirable.

The head of school is looking for an LSA who will:
• Have experience/interest of working with children/young people in some capacity
• SEN experience, Down Syndrome - Essential
• Minimum GCSE Grade C in Maths and English
• Have excellent communication skills
• Be positive and enjoy a challenge

Teaching Assistant - Hearing Impaired pupils

£80 - £90 per day
Teaching AssistantIf you have experience (professionally or personally) supporting children or Adults who are deaf or Hearing Impaired and if you have a BSL qualification in particular we are very keen to hear from you!A position has just become available from 7th January 2019 to work as a Teaching Assistant in a Mainstream Primary School supporting pupils who are Deaf and Hearing Impaired. The school is based in the London borough of Tower Hamlets and has excellent transport links.The Teaching Assistant will be working on a Full Time basis from Monday to Friday (term time only) between the hours of 8.30am and 4pm, ideal hours for applicants who have young children. The position will be to work in the school's Designated Provision for Deaf and Hearing Impaired pupils which consists of children between the ages of 5 and 11. Pupils who are Deaf are supported in designated classrooms where staff have access to specialist resources to support their individual needs. The Teaching Assistant will support a qualified Teacher of the Deaf who is BSL trained and will plan lessons for pupils tailored to their needs. This 'good' 2-form entry school are seeking a positive, engaging individual to join their friendly team in September 2018 for the whole academic year, with the opportunity of a permanent position. The role will involve working with small groups of children who may find it difficult at times to access the national curriculum. You will need initiative and the ability to be proactive, so the children in your care, reach as much of the learning as possible.
