I am working with a bright and vibrant school in Bexley who are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join their friendly team on a full time basis for at least 2 terms.

The role is split into two halves. In the morning you will be supporting a nursery aged pupil who has bilateral hearing loss and wears 2 cochlear implants. She has severe speech, communication, and expressive & receptive language disorder in association with deafness. She presents with Global developmental delay. . She is prone to seizures. She requires help with personal care.

The other half of the role will be in the afternoon, supporting a pupil in Year 1. This pupil has Has bilateral cochlear implants, has developmental delay and sensory seeking behaviours and requires support with learning and attention.

The school day starts between 8.00am and 8.15am.

The successful candidate must have previous experience supporting children with hearing impairments and have worked within Early years and Primary age groups.

Students in the school are very friendly, positive and eager to learn, a real joy to work with!The Learning Support Mentor will be working in the post-16 provision at the school which consists of 23 students aged between 16 and 19 years old. These students are verbal and capable but need support in developing functional and life skills to prepare them for entering higher education and the world of work.
