JOB DESCRIPTION

Horizon Teachers are working very closely with Special Education Needs or Disabilities (SEND) Schools in locations throughout West London and surrounding areas looking to recruit Teaching Assistants and/or Learning Support Mentors who have experience of working with children and young adults with additional needs including Autism, Social Emotional Behavioural Difficulties and Learning Disabilities. Some of our Specialist SEND Schools cater for pupils with Complex Needs such as Severe Learning Difficulties and Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties. These are term time posts starting ASAP on a temporary basis leading to a permanent roles for the right candidate.
The successful applicants will be based in very supportive departments working alongside other teaching assistants, qualified teachers and a dedicated Horizon Teachers Consultant. The right applicant will expect small class sizes, supportive classroom practitioners and a passionate senior leadership team who support CPD opportunities.

The Specialist Schools we work with have good funding and provide interactive learning environments for the needs and requirements of all their learners. They are in line with the National Curriculum, child-centred and directed learning through specific strategies and techniques, with a clear focus on improving communication and interaction skills through positive interventions.
