Horizon Teachers is currently working with an Ofsted good secondary school in Barnet who is looking to appoint enthusiastic graduates who want to become teachers of the future.
The school prides itself for their behaviour management which was noted in their Ofsted report Pupils conduct is of a very high standard they attend regularly, work hard and are eager to learn, they value and enjoy the full range of extra-curricular opportunities available to them'.
They have invested over £3 million in refurbishing the site, so that the school itself and classrooms are fitted with interactive whiteboards and students have access to 7 specialist IT suites.

The ideal person will need to have a real drive to want to become a teacher as this is a fantastic opportunity to gain all the necessary experience and it will be hands on, it's a great way to get a better understanding of the curriculum, witness different teaching styles and also learning how to manage behaviour effectively, you will also need to be empathetic towards the students you will be supporting as they will have Special Educational Needs.
In return the school will help you reach your goal by offering support from the start, they welcome fresh ideas from graduates such as setting up after school clubs which the students really enjoy, you'll be required to attend weekly department meetings also.

This position is initially a 1 year fixed contract with the right people being offered teacher training through the school.

Team Teach Teaching Assistant

1:1 LSA - Year 6 - Mainstream Primary school - 3 days a week  - Term Time  - ASAP start Are you interested in working with students with social, emotional and mental health difficulties? Have you had experience of de-escalating difficult situations? Do you know how and when to use positive handing (and when not to)? If so, I’d love to hear from you.
