Learning Support Assistant - Supporting SEN

A large Primary School in North London is looking for a Learning Support Assistant to be based in Key Stage 2. This position is starting in January 2019 for the rest of the academic year.
This position is to support a child with ADHD the child has emotional reactions when frustrated, this is sometimes expressed by the pupil in aggression. The child responds well to individuals with a calm and patient attitude. The SENCO has developed a strong working relationship with them and is working to support the child and family in and outside of the school environment.
The successful applicant will be required to support the child with their learning and also with their behavioural and social development. The child can be easily distracted and find is very difficult to focus when working in the classroom. So the school have scheduled some time in for them outside of the classroom to work.
Due to the child's volatile behaviour golden time is allocated to them when they become distracted and anxious, this is when a sports background would come in to effect to help calm them down.
The ideal teaching assistant will:
• Be comfortable supporting challenging behaviour
• Have a knowledge and understanding of different behaviour management techniques
• Have the ability to work on your own initiative
• Have a passion for working with Special Educational Needs
• Have an interest or a background in sport

They are located within a 10 minute walk from the nearest underground station with the option of an even shorter bus journey.
