A Special SEN School based in South East London are seeking a Primary/SEN teacher to start with immediate effect due to a staff relocation. The post is full time and long term until July with a possibility of an extension from September.

About the School

The school cater for children aged from 2 to 11 years old with severe/profound and complex learning difficulties or an autistic spectrum disorder. A number of special and tailored approaches are used when appropriate to support work with pupils at the school and pupils benefit from working as a class group; they learn from each other to share attention to improve literacy and numeracy targets. The dedicated team of support staff also support in small groups or individually with each pupil to meet their individual needs.

The teachers work in close collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team to review pupil’s individual education plans every term. Short-term targets are listed in small steps towards the long-term targets agreed at annual reviews. These targets address the areas important for that child’s development, usually incorporating communication skills, cognitive development and/or personal and social education.

Class Teacher - ASD

£29,664 - £40,372 per annum

The class teacher will need to have experience working with students with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This role is a long term position from April 2019 and could potentially be extended until the beginning of the 2019/2020 academic year.
