Science Teacher

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced qualified Science Teacher to join this lively, successful Academy in Lambeth.

  • Required – Science Teacher
  • Situated in Lambeth – easily accessible by London Overground
  • Paying - £140 - £210 per day
  • Duration – remainder of the academic year
  • Teaching – General Science to KS4
  • To start ASAP

Our client, a lively, diverse and successful Academy in Lambeth is currently looking to recruit an experienced, qualified Science teacher to join their team. Having been graded ‘Good’ in their last Ofsted, it is stated that ‘Teaching is good and improving strongly because leaders at all levels have high expectations and routinely track the impact of teaching. Senior leaders and middle leaders show commitment and share the principal’s vision of helping students to achieve against all odds. The ‘can do culture’ of high expectations trickles down to staff, students and parents.’

The Academy are always looking to recruit dynamic Science teachers and support staff that will work together to continue pushing the school forward. The right candidate will be joining a dedicated Science faculty where you will work alongside a team of experienced and newly qualified teachers. Being a relatively new Academy, you will have fantastic facilities available to you and the students.  There are clear guidelines set out within the science department to ensure pupils are kept on task and that their desired levels are met at the end of each year.

To be considered for interview, you will need to be British Trained (QTS) or an Overseas Trained Teacher (British equivalent). Experienced teachers and NQT’s are welcomed to apply for this role. The Academy prides themselves on striving to become more successful and look for teachers with the same mind-set.  Teaching General Science to KS4 is a requirement for this role – this could have been in your qualification placements.

This is a permanent teaching position, the Academy wish to appoint a hardworking and dedicated Chemistry Teacher, for the right teacher this role would provide a great opportunity with rapid progression available. The ideal teacher must have experience of teaching Chemistry to KS3 and 4, the ability to teach KS5 would be an advantage but is not essential.   The Academy is a large expanding inner London academy. There are over 300 students in each year group and within the next year the school will be moving into new buildings where all departments will have state of the art facilities designed to enhance teaching and learning.
