A top secondary academy situated in Southwark is hoping to recruit a well-qualified Physical Education Teacher to become a member of this excellent school. This exciting role is to start in September 2018.

The successful candidate will be joining a Physical Education department in an Ofsted graded ‘Good’ school. The school are looking for a teacher to be committed to the development of high quality teaching practices and high standards of achievement. Teaching A-level is desirable for this position along with KS3 & KS4.

The department is made up of two male teachers and two female teachers; they would be looking to employ someone to teach KS3/4 core PE and also GCSE/BTEC PE. The school are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic PE Teacher with the ability to offer football, rugby and basketball amongst other subjects. The ability to teach outdoor education is also desirable and ideally experience of teaching A-Level PE. They are keen to have someone be fully involved with extra curriculum; the school are in many borough competitions.  

The PE department aim to inspire and enable all our students to become successful learners and this is a wonderful opportunity to join a hard-working and motivated team. This vacancy is suited to NQT's as well as more experienced PE Teachers. This is temporary to permanent role and the school is keen to interview candidates immediately.

If interested in this role you must have the following:

- Qualified teacher status (QTS) or oversea trained.

- PGCE in PE or degree level equivalent

- Extensive experience teaching KS3 – KS5

- Experience of teaching KS3-KS4 PE in a secondary school

- The ability to communicate and work well as a part of team and show a commitment to being part of the wider life of the school

- Excellent subject knowledge

- Proven track record of raising attainment and keeping standards high
