Geography Teacher

Location: Lambeth

Salary: MPS-UPS (based on experience)

A top secondary academy situated in Lambeth is hoping to recruit a well-qualified Geography Teacher to become a member of this excellent school. This exciting role is to start in September 2018.

The successful candidate will be joining a humanities department in an Ofsted graded ‘Good’ school. The school are looking for a candidate to be committed to the development of high quality teaching practices and high standards of achievement. Teaching A-level is needed for this position along with KS3 & KS4.

The school is a very exciting stage in its development. The progress within the school has been significant and now has to drive the teaching and learning to become outstanding. The successful applicant will be an excellent Geography teacher, have experience of working across KS3-5 and have a genuine passion and belief in the potential for every pupil.

You will be joining a department that focus on both theory and fieldwork, these both being an essential element of students studies. Teachers are encouraged to make students learn to think spatially and use maps, visual images and new technologies, including geographical information systems (GIS), to obtain, present and analyse information. The school is looking for someone who will continue to lead confidently within this area.

If interested in this role you must have the following:

- Qualified teacher status (QTS) or oversea trained.

- PGCE in Geography or degree level equivalent

- Extensive experience teaching KS3 – KS5

- Experience in a secondary school within the last two years

- Excellent subject knowledge

- Proven track record of raising attainment and keeping standards high
