A Good' rated Academy is looking for a Religious Studies Teacher for September 2018. The school is a large mixed through school in Lewisham with pupils aged 3-16. It is a mixed ability, improving school. The teachers are able to make a real difference in the school and many of the students exceed their expected grades by a long way due to the dedicated staff at the school.
Their ideal Head of Religious Education candidate will be passionate, dynamic, enthusiastic and committed to the development of all pupils, whilst inspiring their further development of best practice across the RE department and both respond and contribute to the schools changes and development. The school currently offer support of candidates who are keen to progress their personal development. You will be managing a department of two full time members of staff and would lead on staff appraisal and the mentoring of staff.
The school have moved into a well located building with and have been given extra funding; they have invested heavily in all areas of the schools and they have recently opened a primary school. They have invested in support staff and an increase to the number of teachers in the department. This has led to an increase in the number of students selecting RE at GCSE. The post is suitable for a fully qualified teacher looking to take a step into a middle leadership role and develop their career in an environment offering outstanding training and progression programmes to all.

If interested in this role you must have the following:
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) or oversea trained.
- PGCE in RE or degree level equivalent
- Extensive experience teaching KS3 and KS4
- Experience in a secondary school within the last two years
- Excellent subject knowledge
- Proven track record of raising attainment and keeping standards high
