Have you thought about working in an SEN provision within a mainstream school? Would like to work with smaller groups? We are currently seeking a qualified teacher to work in a Primary Alternative Resourced Provision (ARPs) who cater for students who have SEBD (social, emotional, behaviour difficulties). This particular vacancy is to work in a Year 6 class of 3 boys and 2 girls. You will have excellent support from a TA.

The placement enables the pupils to refocus on their learning and / or to prevent a permanent exclusion. All of the pupils are dual registered, meaning that they remain on their home schools registered whilst attending the unit. This provides them with the best possible chance of returning to their mainstream school, if this is the most appropriate place for them. Being in the centre enables pupils to have access to support groups / key professionals that may have been provided or working with them at their home school.

The successful applicant will:
• Hold QTS (or overseas equivalent)
• Be Primary or Secondary trained
• Have excellent behaviour management
• Possess strong communication skills
• Have a DBS (we can support with your application)

It is vital that you are available on a long-term basis with the view to going permanent in the new academic. The students struggle with change and need the continuity. The school are meeting and trialling teachers after half term so get in contact to secure your meeting with the school.

Horizon Teachers is a specialist Education Recruitment Consultancy that helps Teachers and Support Staff find long term, permanent and interim employment in Primary, Secondary and Special Schools throughout London and the South East.
