English Teacher - Greenwich

A vibrant inner London Secondary school in the heart of South London are looking to employ a Teacher of English. This is a Full time role and would be to cover a long term planned absence. The school would like to employ an Outstanding English Teacher who is able to deliver outstanding lessons to KS3, 4 and 5 pupils.
With English results improving year and outperforming other subject areas the school seek to recruit a motivated and forward thinking English teacher. The school was recently inspected was noted for the improvements it has been making. Students are supported throughout their school career by teachers and strong home school links.
Teachers at the school work alongside the visible senior leadership team to ensure that students' behaviour is consistently high. The school environment encourages a positive learning environment with students respecting themselves and staff alike. The atmosphere around the school encourages excellence and all students and staff share a respect. Having recently visited the school it is calm, positive and staff enjoy working at the school.
The English department is looking to work with a teacher who has experience of teaching and progressing students at KS3, 4 and KS5. The staff within the English department support each other and are able to draw upon a wealth of experience and resources to motivate students and allow them to reach their potential. Each classroom is well furnished and interactive whiteboards allow staff to plan for and deliver innovative and engaging lessons. With access to the latest ICT facilities students work is assessed and monitored regularly with good examples proudly displayed throughout the school.
The ideal English Teacher for this role will;
• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Have a PGCE or teaching qualification in English.
• BE able to teach English to KS3 and 4
• Have recent teaching experience, In London would be looked on favourably.
• BE self-motivated, enthusiastic and be able to deliver engaging lessons.
