Are you an experienced and passionate design technology technician who is looking for an exciting new opportunity?

Horizon Teachers is currently working with a good rated secondary school based in the borough of Barnet who is looking to appoint an experienced DT technician to join their friendly, welcoming staffing team.

The school is seeking an enthusiastic individual who can help the school in maintaining good results, you will be required to work alongside the teacher and pupils in the classroom as well as maintaining an operation practical equipment, previous experience in education would be an advantage but not essential.
Your duties will include such things as preparing materials and equipment for design based work, ensure all machinery and equipment is in good condition and safe to use, assisting with practical lessons, undertaking administrative tasks such as photocopying and ordering stock.

To be successful in your application your will have the following;

  • Experience of being an DT technician (Desired not essential)

This fantastic opportunity is set to start ASAP and will initially be until the end of the academic year with the right person being offered a permanent contract at the end.

This is a full time position, the role will be for a term in the first instance with the possibility of a longer term role. The role would suit someone looking to start working in schools or someone who has previous experience as a Science technician who is looking for a new challenge. General duties in support of the teachers in the Science Department. Implementation and dissemination of all appropriate H & S legislation and guidance with respect to science education, including C.O.S.H.H.To ensure that statutory safety regulations and safe practice is complied with. Assisting with daily and weekly laboratory servicing, termly inspections and annual clean.
