Horizon Teachers is currently looking for a Behaviour mentor to work in a challenging Inner London School located in Haringey. The role is to support make students at the school who require extra support within the classroom setting. This is a long term role and would be incredibly rewarding for the right individual. 

The Role;

  • Providing behaviour support to Male students from year 7 to 11. 
  • Acting as a role model for students around the school.
  • Support in lessons where directed by the teaching staff and SENCO. 
  • Providing direction during social time and after school where directed
  • Delivering targeted interventions to groups of students about positive behaviour and appropriate behaviour. 

The School as instructed by Ofsted is "Good" in every area. Staff at the school work closely together and support students to achieve the best they possibly can. Results at the school are above average for the borough and staff retention is good. This role has opened due to the need to support some additional students.

Behavior Mentor - Year 6

£70 - £90 per day
A school in the Merton borough are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a student in Year 6 with delayed learning and behavioural needs. About the role: You will be working 1:1 with a boy in Year 6, He can be very challenging as he has delayed learning and is working at a significantly lower level to her peers. He challenges authority and can be verbally and physically abusive. Experience of working with children with SEN is essential The majority of your time will be spent in the classroom however they may be times you will be working with the child alone on a one to one basis. This is a full time position to start immediately and will last until the end of the academic year About the school: A good school in Merton serving the diverse community. The school is modern with excellent resources Well served by public transport and car parking also available. Excellent, established leadership team and very experienced SENCO About you: A calm, kind and dedicated approach is required. You will need to be able to use your own initiative as you will be working alone with support from the SENCO and SLT. Good communication is essential, as you will be working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, parents and possibly external agencies. Have a good understanding of how children learn and any experience in a similar role would be a huge advantage. Part Time Mentor

£60 - £95 per day
Have you considered working within an SEN provision within a mainstream school? Want to work on a 1:2:1 basis supporting learners with additional needs? We are currently working with an Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP) within a mainstream school. The role is part time, long term and begins from the September term. The school are looking for a Teaching Assistant to support learners with autism. The school is located in Lambeth and is graded 'Good' by Ofsted. They offer exciting approaches to learning that involve and bring out the best in their young people. All learners are provided with a tailored learning environment where additional needs will have their learning requirements met through individual programmes. The Head teacher and senior management are looking for a committed and dedicated teaching assistant to join their school. SEN Learning Mentor

£65 - £95 per day
A growing number of children and young people in the UK are being identified as having Special Educational Needs (SEN) whether academic, physical, mental health/medical or behavioural. Many improvements have been made to support children within specialist provisions such as Complex Needs Schools and Pupil Referral Units (PRUs). These developments have led to an increase in the demand for qualified Teachers.
