Are you a recent graduate from a Russell Group University who is looking for a new and exciting challenge within the world of education?

Here at Horizon Teachers we are currently looking for the next generation of teachers, graduates who are enthusiastic about education and making a difference to the life of young adults.

The schools that we are working with provide all Teaching Assistants with excellent training. You will be introduced to the latest teaching innovations as well as being fully trained on working with SEN students. As a Teaching Assistant you will be a vital link between teachers and students and in past years teaching assistants have been seen to improve grades as well as develop students’ behaviour.

As a teaching assistant you will be reporting directly to the SEN coordinator and would be expected to provide assistance in the educational and social development of students acting as a role model for them.
You will help in planning classroom activities for small groups of students or on a 1-2-1 basis, differentiating work for students to assist in their learning, You will provide support to students outside of the classroom enabling them to fully participate in all aspects of school life.
Some of the students you will be working with will have specific learning needs and you will be helping to develop their social skills by taking a more holistic approach to their education.

As a successful candidate you will have the following

  • Have a recent degree from a Russell Group University
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • Enjoy working with students in small groups and on a 1-2-1 basis
  • Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities
  • Take pride in your work, with an eye for details and accuracy
  • The ability to engage with and inspire young people
