Horizon teachers is currently working with a number of Inner London secondary schools helping them to find enthusiastic graduate teaching assistants.
As a teaching assistant you will gain valuable classroom experience getting better knowledge of school curriculum while learning from experienced classroom teachers.
The schools we are working with are all across London in Boroughs such as: Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Barnet, Enfield, Southwark, Harrow, Greenwich, Islington, Lewisham and many more.
As a teaching assistant your duties will be to work alongside teachers to offer support with small groups of students on a 1 to 1 basis, supporting the classroom teacher in managing behaviour, mentoring targeted students that are passionate about learning, working with SEN and challenging students to improve their learning in and out of the classroom, Building rapport with staff and students.
You will find Horizon Teachers extremely supportive from the beginning, right from your initial consultation, preparation for job interviews, agreeing your placement and then throughout your year at the school, we also provide safeguarding and behaviour management training for you.
Your timetable will ultimately be decided by the schools SENco, secondary schools by nature present many exciting opportunities to do new things, get involved or create educational projects (school clubs) challenging yourself and your students while growing and learning at the same time.
