Are you an experienced and motived speech and language therapist who is looking for their next challenge?

Here at Horizon Teachers we are working with a Good rated secondary school based in East London who is currently looking to appoint a speech and language therapist to join their dynamic and highly successful staffing team.

This role of a speech and language therapist is to work closely with pupils who have various levels of speech and communication needs, you will be required to assess pupils’ needs and problems before developing individual programmes to enable each pupil to improve as much as possible, You will be directly responsible to the head of inclusion faculty.

To be successful in your application you must have the following qualities, experience and qualifications;

  • Experience of working as speech and language therapist
  • Recognised speech and language therapy degree (Desired)
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Flexible, proactive and resourceful
  • Flexible approach to work

Your main duties and responsibilities for this role will be;

  • To liaise with all parties on pupils transition to the inclusion faculty
  • To identify children’s developmental speech and communication difficulties/disorders
  • Monitoring and evaluating pupils progress
  • To assess/treat communication difficulties which may arise from a variety of causes
  • To devise, Implement and revise relevant treatment programmes; such programmes may be in the classroom alongside teachers
  • Asses communication environments to ensure conduciveness to learning
  • To work with pupils on a one-to-one basis and in groups to deliver therapy
  • To provide regular feedback to the head of inclusion faculty on progress and producing evidence of that progress
