Horizon teachers is currently working with a well-known secondary school in east London who are looking to appoint an enthusiastic graduate teaching assistant to join their welcoming school from September.
This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who is looking to become a teacher as the experience you will receive will be unrivalled, you will be working within the SEN department supporting students who may have complex needs such as Autism but full training and support will be offered from the first day.
The role of a teaching assistant will be a combination of 1-2-1 support in classes to SEN pupils; withdrawing from these pupils from class for small booster sessions; leading small groups supporting pupils make progress.
Graduates with degree in English, Maths and science are likely to focus on those subject areas, but many TA roles are very varied across different subjects.
Your timetable will ultimately be decided by the schools SENco, secondary schools by nature present many exciting opportunities to do new things, get involved or create educational projects (school clubs) challenging yourself and your students while growing and learning at the same time.
You will find Horizon Teachers extremely supportive from the beginning, right from your initial consultation, preparation for job interviews, agreeing your placement and then throughout your year at the school, we also provide safeguarding and behaviour management training for you.
