An Outstanding Inner London School is looking to employ a passionate and motivated Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their large team of support staff.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in one of London’s top schools, work alongside excellent teachers, develop skills that can be used in a future teaching career and engage with, motivate and make a difference to student’s achievement.
The school is looking for motivated graduates who will be able to support students at the school with a focus in Humanities, English, Maths or Science. The position would suit someone with a recent degree and strong A Levels. You will be working as directed by the Head of Department and the SENCO. The timetable will be to support students from year 7 through to year 13, you will experience GCSE and A Level teaching so this role would be ideal for anyone looking to progress into teaching in the future. You will support in class but also work with students in small targeted intervention groups.
The school achieved `Outstanding` in its last Ofsted inspection. Students achieve above the national average in GCSE and A Level results. This is due to the hard work of teachers and also the continued support of teaching assistants who play a key role in monitoring progress as well as providing continued support to all students.
Teaching assistants at the school will be provided with regular training sessions and continued professional development. The school may also be able to offer teacher training positions and current teaching assistants have benefitted from this and are moving into teacher training having completed a year as a teaching assistant. Due to this extensive training no school experience is needed but will be looked at favourably.
