JOB DESCRIPTION

Exam Invigilator 

Location - East London

Flexible working hours

£8.60 - £13.41 per hour

Horizon Teachers is working with Outstanding Schools in East London who are looking for exam invigilators for their exam season. Work will be throughout the Summer term and flexible hours are available for you to book to suite your schedule. 

You will be responsible for preparing the room for exams by placing the students candidate cards on their desks, giving them the right papers (DOUBLE-CHECK that they are the correct paper and the correct level/tier) and ensuring they have the necessary equipment. During the exam you will supervise the room making sure that pupils are not speaking or cheating. If pupils need to go to the toilet or be removed from the exam hall you may be asked to supervise them. After the exam you must collect the papers and place them in an official envelope.

Another part to the role is to assist some students with special educational needs may have access arrangements where they are entitled to a scribe to write some or all of their exam for them. If you are doing a role like this you will be writing everything they ask you to. You may also be asked to read for students who have comprehension difficulties.

Exam invigilators need to be dressed smartly in suits and will need to wear sensible rubber-soled shoes. You will be provided with full training for the role of an exam invigilator and provided with support throughout your employment.

·         Have a valid DBS certificate or be willing to pay for one to be processed

·         Eligible to work in the UK

·         Excellent organisation and professional skills

This is an excellent opportunity to experience work within a school, having prior school experience is not essential but would be an advantage.
