Horizon Teachers is working with a Waltham Forest based secondary school who are looking for a passionate teacher of Music to join their successful department in September.
The school itself is a mixed 11-18 comprehensive school serving the local area and has been doing so for a number of years building a strong reputation within the local community.

The ideal teacher will be expected to teach music across key stages 3, 4 and 5 and be committed to raising the achievement to all students.
They expect a strong commitment to the running of extra-curricular activities and whole school productions, the post would suit an ambitious teacher and someone who would like the opportunity to teach A-level, they have excellent training and career progression opportunities for NQTs and more experienced teachers.

The school are looking for an individual with the following;

  • A degree relevant to Music
  • QTS or NQT – Must be a qualified teacher
  • Experience of teaching the subject to GCSE level
  • Clear understanding of what constitutes good and outstanding lessons
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload and work on own initiative
  • Availability to start in September
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people

With this being a popular subject the school wish to appoint a driven and passionate musician who will be able to teach Music at KS3, 4 and 5. Pupils study music at both GCSE and A Level. It is a popular choice so the successful applicants needs to be confident teaching Music up to KS5.
