Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support)
Location: Hammersmith, London
Contract Type: Full-time, temporary with the potential for a permanent contract
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a specific student, providing 1:1 support tailored to their individual needs. You will work alongside the class teacher and the SENCo, collaborating to create and implement personalized learning plans.
What will the role entail?
Supporting the student's academic and social development, providing targeted assistance with their learning tasks
Implementing specific strategies and interventions as outlined in the student's Individual Education Plan (IEP).
Promoting positive behaviour and helping the student develop effective coping mechanisms.
Collaborating with the wider school community, including parents, teachers, and therapists, to ensure consistent support and progress monitoring.
Are there any requirements?
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly in supporting students with SEN.
A strong understanding of various SEN conditions, along with proven strategies to support their learning and development.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build positive relationships with the student, their family, and other staff members.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt your approach to meet the individual needs of the student.
Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support would be advantageous but not essential.
