Horizon Teachers is currently working closely with an Outstanding School in central West London who is looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work within and take a lead in their excellent support department.

The role of a Higher Level Teaching Assistant will suit experienced support staff who are looking for a role with added responsibility. You will be working in a large support team delivering learning support to students of all ages and abilities. Within the role you will be supporting in the class room as well as in small targeted intervention groups and one to one. Another duty will be to support other teaching and learning support assistants throughout their day. You will work alongside learning support assistants and direct their time in and out of lessons.

The school is situated in West London and has been graded as Outstanding in its previous two Ofsted inspections. The pupils are calm and well behaved and all staff are supported by an established senior leadership team. Teachers and Support staff work together to ensure that all pupils progress. Motivation amongst staff is high with many staff progressing within the school to take on extra responsibilities. Achievement is high and this fully inclusive environment means that every student is valued and catered for throughout their school life.

As an HLTA you must have experience of working in schools as either a teaching assistant or learning support assistant. You must also have experience of working with students who have special educational needs, having an HLTA qualification would be seen as an advantage but is not essential as the school will offer training every two weeks to candidates. Having experience of managing individuals will also be an advantage but not essential.

HLTA - High Level Teaching Assistant

£19,500 - £22,500 per annum
We are looking for an experienced High Level Teaching Assistant to work as part of a PPA team at a Primary School in Greenwich. The position is available to start on 7th January, and will initially be on a temporary basis, but the Headteacher is keen to convert this to a permanent contract very quickly. You will likely be offered a permanent contract from February half term. The HLTA role will involve working with the PPA team, which consists of 2 Teachers and 3 HLTAs, to cover for sickness and planned absences through the school. You will be given half a day each week for PPA time. You will plan lessons and activities for certain subjects, and teach from the existing plans for others. Full support will be given for this, and you will work closely with the rest of the PPA team.
